For easy track laying, I print my layout and tape it next to the table. It will guide me to build. For the tracks, I decide to hand laid tracks and I want to test the Fast track system for the turnouts.

I make a template to file inside the rail, because I didn't buy the StockAid tool.
The first turnout took me around 2 hours to build. The next turnout took me around 35 mins.
